Sunday, 7 March 2004
Michael Sholly, MUCC's 1st XI premiership captain-coach of 1990/91, will speak to the playing group on the eve of the club's 2003/04 finals campaign. Sholly will address the club in the Pavvy after training on Thursday 11 March from 8pm.
Sholly, who coached MUCC between 1987 and 1993, is extremely well qualified to speak before finals with his enviable coaching record.
He achieved MUCC's first 1st XI pennant in 62 years, becoming the toast of the University. When he returned to Melbourne CC, he achieved five VCA club championships and three 1st XI premierships.
Sholly is now coaching footy in the VAFA, where he took Old Xaverians to a
premiership in his first season.
Sholly is a brilliant tactician, captain and coach who influenced a generation of cricketers at MUCC and MCC. This is a night not to be missed as our 1sts, 3rds and 4ths all chase premiership success.
The occasion will be marked with a licensed barbecue. |
