Ashley Ross
Friday, 5 March 2004

Congratulations to former MUCC player and coach Ashley Ross who has been
appointed coach of New Zealand A for Sri Lanka A's Antipodean tour.
Ross's moustachioed face was a constant image at Melbourne University during the 1980s and 90s, first as a player and then as a successful coach of the club between 1994 and 1996.
Dasher had his life changed by a serious car accident, which ended his playing career at MUCC but set him on his coaching path. He was well respected and liked at MUCC where he continued to build his credentials in cricket coaching and development.
Rossy, who has a physical education degree from Victoria University, soon became VCA director of coaching and Victoria's assistant coach.
He then took up an appointment with New Zealand Cricket to become part of its high performance centre based at Lincoln University. He has been at the forefront of some innovative coaching practices and last year was coach on the tour of India and Pakistan.
We wish Ashley well for the home tour which concludes next month.
