Michael Nalesnyik
Saturday 21 October 2006

Established MUCCers Antony Barton, Reid Merriman, Anoop Singh, Andy Thomas and the Bull brothers, Hamish and Will the younger, joined six newcomers in helping the club come within a whisker of a sweep against Camberwell and Reds this week.
Left-arm spinner Lincoln Loi and paceman Thomas were the standout performers with the ball with 5/21 and 4/21 respectively.
Russell Marks, Matt Marshall, Bull junior, Singh, Anthul Vijay and Matt Keily all made 50s and Barton an invaluable 48.
Left-arm spinner Reid Merriman proved his all-round capabilities with 46 and 3/27, while fellow tweakers Michael Nalesnyik (pictured) and leg-spinner Bull took 3/19 and 3/23.
The 1s lost their first game of the season, going down by 17 runs. Terrence Dixon remains October’s only centurion with an unbeaten 106 against Northcote, although skipper Andrew Martel had come close with 99 against MCA premiers Powerhouse.
