Nick Williams with 26 not out and 4/30 has claimed man-of-the-match honours in the Victorian Emerging Players' second win of its England tour.
The Vics made 9/205 in their 50 overs and Gloucestershire's 2nd XI fell eight runs short thanks to Williams' four early wickets pushing into the breeze.
Williams' top performance came hot on the heels of Peter Hickerton's debut for Warwickshire's 2nd XI alongside England player Jim Troughton. Englishman Hickerton, fresh from finishing second in MUCC's 4th XI bowling averages, had match figures of 2/50 at Hampshire's Rose Bowl and added 50 for the last wicket with South African Ryan McLaren against off-spinner Shaun Udal.
