Dan Lowery will play his 201st First XI game in the
Michael Sholly
Cup match against Melbourne on Saturday at Uni Main.
The match against fellow Premier Cricket powerhouse Melbourne
will mark the tremendous contribution that Sholly made
to both clubs as a player and coach. Sholly will be on
hand to present the cup to the winning captain on Saturday.
Lowery, who coached the club last season when three sides
made the finals and the 3s won the flag, brought up a
victory against Frankston yesterday in his 200th game.
With the Frankston match being played in the country town
of Maffra, this will be the first chance for home fans
to pay tribute to the former Victorian all-rounder.
The 2s also beat the Heat at University while the high-flying
3s had a wasted trip to Frankston where the umpires declared
the pitch too dangerous to play on.
