The sweep of all four of University’s Premier
Cricket sides making the finals is still on after a successful
weekend against Richmond.
The 1s, who are top, are guaranteed a top-three finish,
victories will give the 2s and 3s a finals berth, while
the 4s need to win and have undefeated top-side Melbourne
beat Dandenong.
Only the 2s failed to win against Richmond with rain meaning
that Greg Kennedy’s 5/86 and Rhys Miller’s
unbeaten 62 counted for nothing.
The heroes of University’s three wins over the Tigers
were coach Shawn Flegler with 87, former State bowler
Ashley Robertson (pictured) with 5/45, Xavier College
recruit Pat Halpin with 61, and leg-spinner Hamish Bull
and pacemen Terry Rothacker and Andre Habchi with four
wickets apiece.
