An unbeaten century and two seven-wicket hauls helped
University to four wins out of five at the weekend.
Leigh Murphy, who was the overseas pro for Nantwich in
England last season, made 114 not out against Ringwood,
while pacemen Greg Kennedy (pictured) and Brendan Goonan
kept up their fantastic form with 7/62 and 7/44 respectively.
Andrew Thomas, in his third game for the club, wrapped
up the 5ths’ seventh win in 10 games with 5/21 off
10 overs. The leading performers of the 40 players who
represented the 5ths this season were newcomers Andrew
Martel, who made 426 runs at 71 apiece, and Tony Sidebottom,
who took 14 wickets at 7.7.
