Three bowlers starred as University's 2s, 3s and 4s all beat fellow cricketing power St Kilda at the weekend.
Off-spinner Daniel Hibbert took 6/77 and quickies Dave Gonsalvez and Hugh Van Cuylenburg returned 5/20 and 4/64 respectively.
Going into the new year, all five grades are in the top six and hoping for finals action.
MUCC's intervarsity side, drawn from University students from the five grades, then beat Hull University outright in a midweek two-day game.
Jarrod Leggett made 139 not out and Tim Robertson, Andrew Bambrook and Greg Kennedy (pictured) each made unbeaten half-centuries in MUCC's innings of 3/209 and 2/224 declared. Hull replied with 104 and 184 all out with the wickets shared between pacemen Kennedy, Alex Kozeniauskas and Brendan Goonan and left-arm spinner Reid Merriman.
