University created a little piece of history this weekend with six victories from six matches (including an outright win in the 1sts against South Melbourne).
The club's most successful weekend in its 148-year history has put all sides in finals contention and followed straight on from a sweep against Essendon the round before.
Opener Andrew Martel (pictured) made 185 not out, State under-17 player Anthony Barton 139, Brendan Joseland 71 not out, spinners Shawn Flegler, Gareth Haeberle and Sam Desai each took five wickets, and pacemen Greg Kennedy and Terry Rothacker took four apiece. The 5s' win on the Saturday was all the more remarkable because the team only had six fielders.
